Hi, I'm Christi. I build companies for a living and I'm raising two kids, which means I think about how people actually learn more than is probably healthy.
You feel it at pickup, at the dinner table, somewhere in the stack of worksheets: school is optimizing for something, and it isn't your kid. It was built to reward compliance, and the world quietly stopped paying for compliance years ago. So I write about raising kids who can think for themselves, make real things, and hold their nerve when there's no answer key. That's the job now, and most of us are doing it without a map.
The old model made sense when information was scarce and expensive. Now your kid carries the entire internet in their pocket and an AI that answers anything. Memorizing facts was never really the point. Now it isn't even the advantage. Knowing who you are, what to make, and what to do when no one hands you the answer: that's what lasts.
